Recipe for making Gajrela or carrot kheer
First step- To make Gajrela, you have to take 2 liters of milk. Light the gas and put the milk to boil in a pan or wok. Take half a cup of broken rice and soak them in water for 1 hour. If you do not have broken rice, then lightly crush the whole rice in a mixer.
Second step- Put the rice in the milk and keep stirring it continuously. Take about one and a half cup of grated carrots and mix it in the milk. Now cook while stirring continuously till the rice is cooked. When the rice is cooked well, cover the pan and slow down the flame of the gas and cook for 30 minutes.
Third step- Keep stirring the carrot kheer or gajrela in between. When the carrots and rice are cooked well and the milk becomes slightly thick, add half a teaspoon of cardamom powder, some chopped dry fruits to it. Now add 1 cup of sugar to it. If you want, you can add more or less sugar according to your taste.
Fourth step- Now mix all the things and cook till it becomes slightly thick. Cook all the things on medium flame while stirring. Now add half a cup of milk powder to it. However, this is optional for you. Turn off the gas when it becomes slightly thick. It will become even thicker when it cools down. Gajrela or carrot kheer is ready. Decorate it with dry fruits and silver work.
