Brisbane: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar (Jaishankar) reached Brisbane, Australia today in the first phase of his two-nation visit. He said that India is on the path of development and wants to move forward with the world. He emphasized that the countries of the world have the goodwill and spirit to work with India.
Will also visit Singapore
Jaishankar has reached Brisbane in the first phase of his two-nation visit. He will also visit Singapore. On reaching Brisbane, he said on social media ‘X’, “Namaste Australia! I have reached Brisbane today. Positive talks are expected in the next few days to take India-Australia friendship forward.” Addressing the Indian community here, Jaishankar said, “India will grow. India is growing and India wants to grow with the world.”
We are optimistic
He said that when India looks at the world, it sees opportunities. Jaishankar said, “We are optimistic. There may be some problems but overall, we feel that there is goodwill and sentiment in the world to work with India. We see a sentiment for India’s success all over the world.” He said that there are many opportunities for global cooperation in the field of education and research.
Requirement of global workforce
He said, “Today the image of Indians abroad is that of well-educated, personally responsible, strategic. I think the combination of all these today makes us very attractive in the global workplace. I think it is important to develop that brand, nurture those skills.’ He said, ‘Again I emphasize that you know this is the era of AI, electric mobility, chips and this will require a global workforce.’
Jaishankar’s program
During his visit, Jaishankar will inaugurate Australia’s fourth consulate in Brisbane.
He will also co-chair the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue (FMFD) with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong in Canberra.
He will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session of the second ‘Raisina Down Under’ to be held at the Australian Parliament House.
There is also a program to interact with the Australian leadership, parliamentarians, business community, media and intellectuals.
