Moscow: Amid growing tensions with Western countries over Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin (Putin ) has ordered the country’s nuclear forces to begin extensive exercises, including missile launches. During a video conference with top military officials, Putin said the exercise would include practicing the launch of nuclear-capable ballistic and cruise missiles. After Putin’s order, Russia’s nuclear force has started testing nuclear missiles.
Putin emphasized this
Putin, who has mentioned nuclear power several times in view of the growing support of Western countries for Ukraine, emphasized that Russia’s nuclear arsenal remains a “reliable guarantee of the country’s sovereignty and security.” He said, “Given the growing geopolitical tensions and emerging new threats and risks, it is important for us to have modern strategic forces that are always ready for war.” Putin reiterated that Russia considers the use of nuclear weapons “the last resort to ensure its security”.
What did the Russian Defense Ministry say
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry said that as part of Tuesday’s exercise, the military tested the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from the Plesetsk launch pad at the Kura testing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The Novomoskovsk and Knyaz Oleg nuclear submarines also tested missiles, while nuclear-capable Tu-95 strategic bombers conducted practice launches of long-range cruise missiles. The Defense Ministry has confirmed that all the missiles destroyed their targets.
Putin had warned
Let us tell you that last month Russian President Vladimir Putin had warned the US and NATO allies. Putin had clearly said that if Ukraine used long-range weapons supplied by Western countries for attacks within Russia, it would be assumed that NATO had waged a war against Russia.
