John Abraham started his career as a supermodel. His first salary was Rs 6500. When he was asked how he spends his salary, John said, ‘My expenses were very low. My lunch used to be Rs 6 and I used to eat 2 rotis and dal fry. This was in 1999. I did not eat dinner because I had to work late in the office. My expenses included petrol for my bike, I did not have a mobile, I had a train pass and some food, that’s all.’

After a successful career in modeling, John Abraham started his acting career with the film ‘Jism’, which was considered a successful film and even today people like to watch it. John says, ‘Before Parmanu, when I had not worked for four years, a lot of new people had come to the industry. I was told that my career is over, I am out. When Parmanu released, I did not even understand whether I was in or out. It worked. Just keep working. Even when I was ‘free’, I did not stop working. Just work hard, people will see your sincerity.’ He made his comeback with two back-to-back hits ‘Pramanu’ and ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and later impressed everyone as the villain in Pathan. The film starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan turned out to be an all-time blockbuster and grossed Rs 1050 crore at the box office worldwide. He is currently seen in ‘Veda’ opposite Sharvari.
