Jehanabad: A stampede broke out in Baba Sideshwar Nath ( Sideshwar Nath ) temple in Jehanabad district of Bihar. 7 devotees including 3 women died. 35 devotees have been injured. This incident is from Vanavar hill area of Makhdumpur block. As soon as the information about the stampede was received, the administration team reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is being carried out with the help of security forces and volunteers deployed in the temple premises.
Stampede in temple during Jalabhishek
Due to Monday of Sawan, there was a long queue of devotees in the temple. A stampede broke out in the temple during the Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. A large number of devotees died and were also injured. The injured devotees have been admitted to the nearest hospital.
People ran here and there to save their lives
The devotees present in the temple told that there was a crowd of devotees in Sideshwar Nath temple since Sunday night. This stampede happened around 1 o’clock late night. All the people present in the temple started running here and there to save their lives, then dozens of people fell in the temple premises and got seriously injured.
The death toll may increase
During the stampede, devotees kept passing over them. Due to this, many devotees including women died on the spot. The injured are being admitted to the hospital and treated. It is being told that the death toll due to the stampede may increase further.
