Bareilly: Maulana  (Maulana ) Tauqeer Raza did not get permission to conduct mass conversion and Nikah of Hindus in Bareilly. Bareilly district administration gave a blow to Maulana Tauqeer Raza and said that there will be no event of conversion at any public place. If the order of the administration is disobeyed, strict action will be taken.

Permission was sought to convert Hindu girls

Actually, on 21st July in Bareilly, Maulana Tauqeer Raza had announced to convert 23 Hindu boys and girls and conduct their mass Nikah. For this, he had sought permission from the district administration. Hindu organizations had strongly opposed this. He said that out of 23 people, there are 15 girls and 8 boys. For the first time, marriage of five couples will be performed.

Protests against Maulana at many places

Maulana claimed that these boys and girls live in live-in with each other. Live-in is not recognized in Islam. Therefore, their marriage has to be given legal recognition by performing their Nikah. After this statement of Maulana, protests took place in many cities of UP and memorandums were also submitted in the name of CM Yogi.

Ittehad-e-Millat Council postponed the program

Ittehad-e-Millat Council has said that after not getting permission from the administration, the program of mass conversion and Nikah is postponed. The council has told in writing that on 21/07/2024, an application for permission was given to the Bareilly administration for permission of five couples who voluntarily wanted to convert to Islam and get married by IMC.

Permission for mass conversion and marriage of Hindu boys and girls

Permission has not been granted by the Bareilly administration. The administration has also said that no one in Bareilly district will be allowed to convert to another religion and marry or perform Nikah at a public place. Legal action will be taken if anyone does so.

Tauqeer Raza had given this argument

Let us tell you that on July 21, Tauqeer Raza had informed about converting 5 Hindus and getting them married in the first phase. A letter was sent to City Magistrate Rajiv Shukla for permission for this. He had said that the couple is already in a live-in relationship. He said that the Constitution allows such relationships, but these are illegal in Islam and Hinduism.
