Delhi: CBI is engaged in arresting the accused in the NEET ( NEET) paper leak case. Meanwhile, the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the NEET-UG paper leak case. In the affidavit, the EOU said that on May 5, 2024, Patna Police had received a complaint of irregularities in the NEET exam. On this basis, Patna Police has arrested 13 accused. Out of these 13, four accused students are those who appeared in the exam.
Suspicious documents and mobiles seized
Along with this, in the affidavit given in the Supreme Court, it was also told that some suspicious documents and mobiles have also been seized at the time of arrest. The accused have been sent to judicial custody after interrogation.
The accused confessed to rigging in NEET
Bihar Police said in its affidavit that when they got to the bottom of the matter, it was found that some of the accused were involved in the paper leak incident earlier as well. Four accused confessed to the police that they were involved in NEET rigging. Bihar Police had formed an 8-member SIT in this case.
Paper leak links to another state Jharkhand as well
When Bihar Police proceeded with this investigation, it found that many people were involved in it. Also, NEET rigging links were found to be linked to another state Jharkhand as well. NEET paper leak case was also investigated in Jharkhand.
CBI took the case on 24 June
The Bihar government has submitted its investigation report to the Union Education Ministry on 20 June. On 24 June, CBI took over this case from Bihar Police. The lawyer filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Bihar government saying that now the matter is with the CBI. Therefore, now more information related to this case cannot be shared.
