Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi ( Yogi) Adityanath on Thursday held a meeting with the officials regarding strong law and order and facilities for the devotees in view of the upcoming festivals. The CM reviewed the preparations being made for the festivals. During this, CM Yogi has given necessary guidelines to the officials. CM Yogi said that Ganga Dussehra is on June 16, Bakrid on June 17, Mangal festival of Jyeshtha month on June 18 and International Yoga Day is organized on June 21. Holy programs like Moharram and Kanwar Yatra are to be held in the month of July. Naturally, this time is very sensitive from the point of view of law and order. The government and administration need to be in active mode 24 hours a day.
What instructions did the Chief Minister give to the officers?
The CM said that a special cleanliness campaign should be run in the state from June 15 to 22. In view of Ganga Dussehra, the ghats of the Ganga river should be cleaned and decorated. It should be decided where to take bath. For vigilance, divers, PAC flood unit and NDRF and SDRF should also be deployed. He said that this is the time of extreme heat, and festivals are also to be organized. In such a situation, there should not be unnecessary ‘power cut’ in the name of rostering anywhere in villages, towns, metropolises. Get the problem of transformer failure and fault resolved quickly.
Take care of the needs of the common people. Previous experiences show that where the local administration maintained a lack of communication, there was a situation of unpleasant incident. We have to learn from them and be alert. Senior officers posted at police station, circle, district, range, zone, division level should communicate with the religious leaders of their respective areas, other eminent people of the society. Issue positive messages for the people.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the place for sacrifice on Bakrid should be decided in advance. Apart from this, sacrifice should not be done anywhere else. There should be no sacrifice at disputed/sensitive sites. In every situation, ensure that banned animals are not sacrificed anywhere. He said that Namaaz should be performed at a designated place as per tradition. Namaaz should not be performed on the roads. Respect faith, but do not encourage any new tradition. Yogi said that all necessary efforts should be made keeping in view the local needs so that every festival is celebrated in peace and harmony.
If anyone tries to take the law in his hands, immediate action should be taken against him. Keep an eye on the anarchic elements. He said that there has been a tradition of organizing Bhandara on Bada Mangal of Jyeshtha month. The organizers should be clearly told that after eating the prasad, the waste should not be thrown on the roadside. Dustbins should be available at every Bhandara site. He said that no such incident should happen which hurts the sentiments of people of other religions.
He said that win the trust of the common man. Our action is against the mafia, not against the poor. This action will be intensified. It is our responsibility to protect the interests of every poor, exploited, oppressed and deprived. CUG phones have been given to the officers posted in the field. These are for the public. Keep them on for 24 hours. Every officer should receive this phone himself. Maintain communication with the public representatives. Listen to their expectations and problems. Resolve them on the basis of merit.
