MP fund restored

New Delhi. Big decisions were taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, in which an important decision has been taken to restart the MP fund. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, it was decided to restart the MP Fund. Actually, the MP fund of the year 2020-21 was used in the war against Corona. Now MPs will start getting money for development work again. 2 crore will be given to MPs this year. From next year, MPs will start getting Rs 5 crore.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur has said that now the economy is going well and for this reason the MP fund is being started again. Thakur said that Rs 2.5-2.5 crore would be given to MPs in two installments every year from 2022-23 to 2025-26.

In fact, in the month of April last year, during the fight against the Corona epidemic, the central government had postponed the MP fund for 2020-21 and 2021-22. These money were used in the health sector and other important places. MPs from all over the country recommend development works in their areas only through MP funds.

Under the MP fund, the central government gives five crore rupees for the development of each Lok Sabha. Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha MPs can use this fund for development works. Similarly, there is a provision of MLA fund in many states. The MLA fund in Delhi is ten crores which is the highest in the country.

Apart from this, the Union Cabinet has also taken another big decision. Anurag Thakur has informed that in order to honor the special place and contribution of tribes in Indian history and culture and to inspire generations to preserve this cultural heritage and national pride, on November 15, the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, Tribal Pride. It has been decided to declare the day.
