Mumbai: The youth of the country are increasingly getting trapped in the web of drugs.( drugs)  First the person himself gets ruined by taking drugs, then the family, the society and finally the country. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has called it a big problem of the country and Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered all the states to run a campaign against drugs for a drug-free society. Large scale action and arrests have also started, but despite this neither the demand nor the supply of drugs is decreasing. The changing trend of drugs is even more dangerous, which is taking everyone, rich and poor, small and big, into its embrace.

Just a day before the New Year, on the night of 30th December, Thane Crime Branch raided a rave party in the mangrove bushes of Kasarvadavali, where 90 young men and 5 women were found drunk. Police also found drugs like charas, LSD, escutis pills and ganja from the spot. Most of the youth were college students and youth working in corporates.

According to the 2019 survey by the Ministry of Social Justice, about ten crore people in the country are drug addicts. In another survey, every seventh person of Punjab is addicted to drugs, hence another name of the drug is called ‘Udta Punjab’, but now when drug factories have started being caught in Maharashtra, questions are being raised on even the richest state whether Maharashtra has also become a hub of drugs?

Routes of drug smuggling:-
There are two routes of smuggling drugs from foreign countries into India. A Golden Triangle – in which opium comes to India from Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. Second Golden Crescent- in which heroin is brought to India from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Whereas cocaine comes from South America.

According to NCB Zonal Director Amit Ghawte, there are Death Crescent and Death Triangle on the left and right sides of India and India is sandwiched between these two regions. Similarly, there will not be any country which is not connected by air to big cities like Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore and Kolkata, so this is also misused in human carrier and luggage carrier.
