New Delhi. Dense fog (fog i) in North India has caused a huge drop in day temperature. Due to fog, flights and train operations remained disrupted on Friday also. VIP trains like Vande Bharat Express are also running late by more than 20 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of snowfall on the mountains and western disturbance will be more visible in the next few days. Due to this, there will be a drop in temperature and cold wave may occur in many areas of Delhi between January 5 and 11. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next three days. In such a situation, the beginning of the new year will be amidst fog and severe cold.

150 trains including Vande Bharat late by 20 hours
Due to fog, about 150 trains including Vande Bharat, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Humsafar reached Delhi late by hours. Many trains arrived late by 10 to 20 hours. Due to this, their departure time had to be changed. Varanasi-Delhi Vande Bharat Express (22436) reached Delhi with a delay of 20:31 hours on Thursday. It was canceled on Friday. Bhopal Vande Bharat Express left Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi with a delay of 17:20 hours on Friday. Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express left on time on Friday, but was delayed by 1:26 hours by the time it reached New Delhi.

Very bad condition of trains coming and going from Delhi
Friday’s Shatabdi Express in both directions was cancelled. In Bihar, there is a warning of dense fog in 13 districts including Patna and of moderate fog in 18 districts. In Patna, Rajdhani Express arrived late by 11 hours and Sampoorna Kranti by 15 hours. The worst condition here is of trains coming and going from Delhi. Many trains in the city were delayed due to poor visibility on Friday. While talking, a passenger Deepti said that all the trains are running late. There is a lot of crowd at the station and there is a huge traffic jam outside.

Dense fog at Delhi airport

Due to this, the minimum temperature reached four degrees Celsius more than normal, but due to the drop in day temperature the cold has increased. Melting is increasing in Uttar Pradesh
Fog remained widespread in many districts of Uttar Pradesh also. Melting is also increasing. According to the Meteorological Department, there are less chances of sunshine for the next three-four days. There has been a warning of cold wave with dense fog in more than 50 districts. The temperature will drop further in the new year. There may be light sunshine after January 2, but there will be no reduction in winter.

Rajdhani reached Jammu late by 11 hours and Humsafar Express by 19 hours. Humsafar was dispatched with a delay of 22 hours. About a dozen trains including these trains reached Jammu with a delay of several hours. These could also be sent late.

Weather is worsening in Srinagar
Five planes could not reach Jammu airport on Friday. Srinagar was colder than Gulmarg with a temperature of -3.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Gulmarg was -2.5 degrees Celsius. Most of the water sources in the valley including Dal Lake have partially frozen. In Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has said that due to the active Western Disturbance on December 30 and 31, there is a possibility of snowfall and rain in the higher and central areas of the state. Orange alert has been issued due to dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar of Uttarakhand. Fog and severe cold continue in Punjab also. There was dense fog in many districts on Friday morning also. Due to this visibility was affected. In many districts the sun did not come out till 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
