Waterfalls frozen due to snowfall on the mountains(snowfall ) 

Weather: Due to the ongoing snowfall (snowfall )  in the mountains, the effect of cold has started becoming visible in the plains as well. At the same time, there is a situation of rain and flood in Tamil Nadu due to cyclone ‘Migjom’.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday started providing cash assistance of Rs 6,000 to the families affected by the rains and floods caused by cyclone ‘Migjom’. The state government has allocated Rs 1,486.93 crore to provide cash assistance which will benefit about 25 lakh families in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kanchipuram districts.
Agasthiyar Fall in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu is in spate due to heavy rains. Due to rain, holiday has been declared in schools and colleges in Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts on Monday, December 18.
Southern districts of Tamil Nadu, including Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Tenkasi, received heavy rainfall on Sunday due to the influence of the cyclonic circulation over the Indian Ocean and south-west Bay of Bengal off the southern Sri Lankan coast.
Snowfall occurred in some high altitude areas of Kashmir on Saturday, while it rained in the plains. Due to weak western disturbance, light to moderate snowfall occurred in some high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Gulmarg in Baramulla district of North Kashmir received about six inches of snowfall.

The Meteorological Department said that there has been snowfall in Sonamarg tourist spot and Zojila also. The temperature was recorded at -5.8 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg, 0.2 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam, 0.6 degrees Celsius in Banihal and 8.8 degrees Celsius in Jammu.
The temperature in Srinagar on Sunday was recorded at 1.4 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than the bone-chilling minus 3.5 degrees Celsius recorded last Friday morning.
