Delhi still has no respite from poisonous air(Delhi)

New Delhi. There was a slight improvement in the air quality in Delhi  (Delhi) and its adjoining cities on Sunday, but no major relief is expected in the coming days. Monitoring agencies gave this information. The air quality index (AQI) in the national capital was 290 at 7 am, which was recorded at 301 at 4 pm.

The average AQI of the last 24 hours recorded every day at 4 pm was 319 on Saturday, 405 on Friday and 419 on Thursday. In neighboring Ghaziabad (280), Gurugram (234), Greater Noida (236), Noida (268) and Faridabad (327) the air quality was also recorded in the ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ category.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, between 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, between 101 and 200 “moderate”, between 201 and 300 “poor”, between 301 and 400 Between 401 and 450 is considered “severe”, and above 450 is considered “very severe”.

The central government on Saturday ordered the cancellation of restrictions imposed under the fourth phase of the Gradual Response Action Plan (GRAP) after improvement in air quality due to favorable wind speed in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region).
Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in NCR and Adjoining Areas orders cancellation of all emergency measures in Delhi-NCR under which only CNG, Electric and BS (Bharat Stage)-6 related vehicles are allowed to enter Delhi Is.

In the fourth phase of GRAP, only essential vehicles were allowed to enter Delhi, while apart from this, the entry of all medium and trucks was banned.

CAQM said that the air quality forecast of India Meteorological Department/Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology does not indicate any significant deterioration in the overall air quality of Delhi-NCR in the coming days.
