Arun Govil became famous as Ram by playing the character of Ram in the famous TV serial ‘Ramayana’. There is no need to tell anyone about this famous actor. His identity with Lord Rama is such that even today people are seen worshiping him. There was a time when people considered him as Lord Ram and touched his feet. People who have lived the days of this serial can tell that when the famous religious show ‘Ramayana’ was telecast on TV, the streets and streets used to be deserted. It was as if curfew had been imposed. On this special occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, let us tell you that Ramanand Sagar had refused to make Arun ‘Ram’ in the first place.

Arun Govil once reached ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, during the show he told a funny anecdote about his casting in Ramayana. How he got a chance to play this historical character was revealed on the show. Arun had told that ‘When I came to know that Ramanand Sagar is making ‘Ramayana’, I reached him asking for a role. I told him that I want to play Ram. He looked at me and said that it will be okay when the time comes. When the auditions for the serial started, I was also called, but the team of the show did not like my audition and I was rejected.

Obviously, Arun Govil had become sad at that time. The actor was very disappointed with the rejection in the audition. In such a situation, one day Ramanand Sagar got a call and called Arun to meet him. Arun says that ‘when I reached to meet him, he said that we are not getting Ram like you’. After this, there was no need to tell anyone about Arun Govil.
It is believed that when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, the people of Ayodhya welcomed Ramchandraji by lighting a lamp.
