New Delhi: Kenya has been hit by a mysterious disease. There has been a stir here due to the complaint of paralysis in the legs of school girls. According to local media, about 100 schoolchildren (100 girls’ )  in Kenya have reported symptoms of paralysis in their legs. Most of the girls are no longer able to walk due to paralysis in their legs. According to local media reports, the incident took place at St. Theresa Eregi Girls High School in Kakamega city and the paralyzed schoolgirls have been admitted to hospital and the school has been closed indefinitely.

County Education Officer Bonface Okoth told the media that 95 paralyzed girl students have been admitted to hospitals for treatment. According to a BBC report, school girls were having difficulty walking due to paralysis in their legs and were also feeling cramps. However, what exactly is this disease has not been revealed. The report said that experts believe that this could be mass hysteria.

The report said blood and urine samples of the victim girls have been collected by health officials and sent to Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) laboratories, where the mysterious disease is being investigated. At the same time, Kenyan officials have urged the parents and guardians of the victim girls to closely monitor the health of their children. A video of school children unable to walk due to a mysterious disease is going viral on social media.
