Army cordoned off the search using Heron drone.(Army )

Srinagar. The operation to eliminate terrorists involved in Wednesday’s encounter in Jammu and Kashmir continued for the second day. Four members of the security forc(Army ) e  were martyred in this encounter. Police have claimed to have ‘surrounded’ two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in the higher reaches of Anantnag district of South Kashmir. Officials informed about this. At the same time, the help of Heron drone taken from Israel is being taken to search for terrorists.

15 Corps Commodore and GOC Victor Force are closely monitoring the entire operation. The army officer said, “The terrorists will not be spared, all types of new generation weapons and equipment are being used. “Heron drones taken from Israel have also been included in the operation.”

Officials said that the sound of gunshots was heard in the Gadole forests of Kokernag in Anantnag district in the early hours of Thursday. He said that additional security forces have been sent to the area to eliminate the terrorists. The terrorists are probably hiding in a natural cave in the mountains.

Officials said helicopters were seen hovering over the Gadole forests as the army and police personnel have laid a tight cordon around the area. Sounds of firing were heard throughout the day, but there were no reports of any casualties.

Earlier in the day, police said they have ‘surrounded’ two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Anantnag district, where four security force personnel – Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Major Ashish Dhochak, police Deputy Superintendent Humayun Bhatt and a soldier were martyred in the encounter on Wednesday.

Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on ‘X’, “A true tribute to the unwavering bravery of Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhochak and DSP Humayun Bhatt, who sacrificed their lives during this operation. “Our forces are standing firm with unwavering resolve to surround two Lashkar terrorists including Uzair Khan.”

Anti-Pakistan demonstrations were held in various parts of Jammu on Thursday in protest against this incident. Panun Kashmir and Ek Sanatam Bharat Dal paid tribute to the martyred personnel and demanded a massive operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Led by senior Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir unit leader Arun Prabhat, hundreds of workers protested in Pakka Danga and criticized Pakistan for supporting and promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. People raised slogans against Pakistan and burnt its flags. Prabhat told reporters, “After the success of the G20 summit, Pakistan is stunned by the popularity of India. This is why they are trying to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir. They want to create trouble in the area.”
