New Delhi. The beginning of the T20 series has not been anything special from the Indian ( India) point of view. The first match of the prestigious series was played on August 3 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Taruba. In this exciting match, the Indian team had to face defeat by four runs. In the first T20 match, West Indies won the toss and batting first scored 149 runs at the loss of six wickets in the scheduled overs. While chasing the target, the Blue team could only manage 145 runs in the stipulated overs at the loss of nine wickets. Thus, the Blue team has faced a close defeat by four runs in the first T20 match.
Other batsmen flopped except Tilak Verma:
Chasing the target, except for Tilak Verma, other Indian batsmen were seen battling for runs in front of the Caribbean bowlers. Verma, playing his first T20 match for Team India, faced a total of 22 balls while batting at number four. Meanwhile, managed to score maximum 39 runs at a strike rate of 177.27. McCoy, Holder and Shepherd get 2-2 success:
In the first T20 match, Obed McCoy, Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd managed to take two wickets respectively. Whereas Akil Hossein got a success. West Indies managed to score 149 runs:
Earlier, batting first after losing the toss in Taruba, the West Indies team managed to score 149 runs at the loss of six wickets in the stipulated overs. For the team, Captain Rovman Powell, batting at number five, scored the highest innings of 48 runs in 32 balls. Apart from him, Niklas Puran, batting at number four, contributed 41 runs in 34 balls.
Chahal and Arshdeep took 2-2 wickets:
Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh were the most successful bowlers for Team India in the first T20 match. Both these bowlers got two successes respectively. Apart from these, Captain Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
