After the arrest of Ali Asghar Shirazi, a close aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, there is a possibility that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) (NIA ) will interrogate him in custody. Sources have told about this that Shirazi was arrested at the airport on 22 May while trying to escape to Dubai. He was made an accused in a drug smuggling case worth Rs 8 crore. Now he has to be interrogated. The investigation of this case can be handed over to the NIA, although Mumbai Police and NIA have not confirmed it yet.

Shirazi is the main accused of drug smuggling
Shirazi was arrested at the Mumbai airport on 22 May while he was trying to flee to Dubai. He was named as the prime accused in a case related to smuggling of Ketamine and Viagra worth Rs 8 crore to Australia and the United Kingdom (UK) using courier service. His boss and international drug dealer Kailash Rajput had exported banned drugs to UK, US and Australia through Shirazi.

Kailash Rajput used to run an international drug racket at the behest of D-Gang while Shirazi used to do smuggling work from Mumbai. He was also put on the wanted list. A lookout notice had been issued against him, but he was not aware of it. He was arrested. The Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch is also probing Shirazi’s investments. 15 kg of ketamine and 23,000 Viagra tablets were seized from Mumbai
Significantly, in March, the AEC of the Mumbai Crime Branch raided the premises of a courier office in Andheri East and seized 15 kg of ketamine and 23,000 Viagra tablets. According to police sources, Shirazi used to smuggle ketamine and other banned substances through three courier companies – International Express, One Logistics and Pan Front.
Shirazi sent to judicial custody, 7 accused arrested so far
The remand application also mentions that technical data like chats have been deleted, which they were trying to examine. Shirazi was produced before the magistrate at Qila Adalat on Monday, where he was represented by Abrar Shaikh, aide of advocate Tarak Sayyed. He has been sent to judicial custody. So far, about 7 accused have been arrested in the case.
