3 killed (3 killed)in blast in scrap shop

Kargil. At least three people were killed  (3 killed) and nine others were injured when a suspicious item exploded inside a shop in Ladakh’s Kargil district on Friday. Kargil Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Suse told the media that the condition of two of the nine injured is critical. According to officials, the explosion took place inside a scrap dealer’s shop in Kabadi Nala area of Drass. A deaf person is also included in the dead.

Deputy Commissioner Suse said that the injured have been taken to the hospital and they are being given the best treatment as per the requirement. DC Kargil and SSP Kargil visited District Hospital Kargil Kurbathang to inquire about the condition of the injured. Apart from this, some interim relief is also being given to the families of the deceased under the Red Cross Fund. Meanwhile, the district administration and the Kargil police have expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the law at Drass Police Station and further investigation is underway.

According to local media reports, 3 laborers, including 2 laborers from Jammu, were killed in the explosion at the shop of a scrap dealer in Kabadi Nala in Drass area. This explosion in the scrap shop was powerful. It is said that the explosion took place during the tampering with a tool taken as scrap by the workers. The deceased have been identified as Shabbir Ahmed, Vinod Kumar and Sangeet Kumar of Khayadal Drass. Vinod Kumar and Sangeet Kumar are residents of Narwal in Jammu. Two laborers died on the spot, while the third died in the hospital.
