New Delhi: SSB personnel on Sunday arrested two Chinese nationals during patrolling along the Indo-Nepal border. The SSB detained both the civilians under suspicious circumstances near Bhithamor checkpost. Both citizens are residents of Wuhan, China. After interrogating both, the SSB handed them over to the local police.
Giving information, Commandant Rajan Kumar Srivastava, in-charge of the 51st Battalion, said that at the time when the soldiers were patrolling the border, about 10 meters away from pillar number 301 in Indian territory, two foreign nationals were seen going to the border.
Information given to investigative agencies
The soldiers stopped both on the basis of suspicion and on the basis of their language, they were confirmed to be Chinese citizens. After this, visa and passport were asked from both of them but they did not have both the documents. After that he was arrested. After the arrest of both, the information of the case was given to the other investigating agencies concerned.
Arrived from Thailand to Kathmandu
During interrogation, it was revealed that both the citizens had reached Kathmandu from Thailand on 23 May 2022. Suransad SHO Navlesh Kumar Azad said that on the basis of the statement of SSB head constable Murari Kumar, both were sent to judicial custody after registering an FIR against them. Two passports, ear phones, mobile power banks, four five hundred notes in Indian currency, a total of $ 133, ATM cards, and cigarette boxes have been found from both the citizens.
