New Delhi: Shri Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway reviewed the work progress of Northern Railway with the major Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers of Northern Railway. In the meeting, discussions were held on providing passenger amenities like extension of platforms, raising the level of platforms, provision of washable aprons, second entrance, foot-over bridges, escalators, lifts for differently-abled persons, improvement of station building including entrance gate. Was done. He also reviewed the mobility enhancement, developmental infrastructure, freight loading and safety on the tracks.
Shri Gangal informed that Northern Railway operated 1240 crack trains between 01.12.2022 to 07.12.2022 for better utilization of rolling stock in freight transport. He said that more such trains will be run. He stressed on the need for better management of manpower and crew.
The General Manager directed to maintain a better record of punctuality of trains and to speed up the works related to increasing the mobility and to run a campaign to check the progress of the works. He reviewed the work being done on the zone to improve the maintenance standards of tracks and welds and to clear the scrap lying near the tracks. The General Manager reviewed the work of pruning of trees and clearing of vegetation around the tracks.
Shri Gangal stressed on reducing human failures in rail operations and intensive monitoring of rail cracks and rail welds. He said that there should not be any mistake in these works. He asked the officials to increase the inspections related to the progress of works and train operations.
He informed that the loading of food grains and other items has increased with each passing month. Northern Railway is committed to provide safe, convenient and better services to its users.
