Delhi: The Waqf Amendment Act has been passed in the Lok Sabha. ( Lok Sabha) Let us tell you that Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha. There was a debate between the ruling party and the opposition all day regarding this bill. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were also extended regarding the debate on the bill. Finally, voting took place on the Waqf Amendment Act late at night and the bill was passed.
How many votes in favour and against?
In the final voting to pass the Waqf Amendment Act in the Lok Sabha, a total of 288 votes were cast in favour of the bill. At the same time, 232 votes were cast against the bill. With this, all the amendments of the opposition have been rejected. Now this bill will go to the Rajya Sabha where it will be discussed and then voting will be done to pass it.
Owaisi tore the copy of the bill
On the Waqf Amendment Bill issue, AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in the Lok Sabha – “The Waqf al Aulad rule in this bill is a violation of Article 25. This law has been brought to create a dispute between Hindus and Muslims in the country. It has been brought to increase the dispute between the people of both religions. The purpose of this bill is only to humiliate and disgrace Muslims and make them second class citizens. Mahatma Gandhi had torn the law of South Africa, so I also tear it.” After this, Asaduddin Owaisi tore the copy of the Constitution Amendment Bill.
Owaisi did an unconstitutional thing by tearing the bill – Jagdambika Pal
Jagdambika Pal, chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill and BJP MP, said during the ongoing debate in the Lok Sabha – “Asaduddin Owaisi calls this bill unconstitutional, but he has done an unconstitutional thing by tearing the bill. I want to ask him why did he tear the bill?.”
