Delhi: Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 was passed by Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament, late on Thursday night. After a whole day of discussion and debate between the ruling and opposition parties, voting took place late night in Rajya Sabha and this bill was passed. Let us tell you that earlier on Wednesday, the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha. After a long debate and discussion, the Waqf Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha late at night. On Thursday, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. After this, the bill was discussed throughout the day. Voting on the Waqf Bill took place in Rajya Sabha late on Thursday night. 128 votes were cast in favour of this bill and 95 votes were cast against it. With this, the bill was passed by majority.

What will be the further process?

There are three stages to convert a bill into a law. First, the bill has to be passed in both the houses, i.e. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. After this, the bill is sent to the President for approval. After the President signs it, the bill becomes a law. After this, the government issues a notification to implement the law.
