Indian Railways: Indian Railways takes steps from time to time for the convenience of passengers as per the need. Trains   (trains) run by Indian Railways provide many facilities for women and elderly as well as Divyang passengers. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about these facilities in response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha. The Railway Minister said that in trains, many lower seats in each coach are reserved for women above 45 years of age. So that women do not have to face difficulties in going to the upper berth during the journey.

Lower berths are also reserved for pregnant women and Divyangs

Ashwini Vaishnav said that many lower seats are reserved for women above 45 years of age as well as pregnant women and Divyangs. The Railway Minister said that if these special category people do not choose the option of lower berth while booking tickets online, then the railway system automatically allots them lower berths. Ashwini Vaishnav told in the Lok Sabha that the railway tries to provide better facilities to the passengers during the journey. He said that if lower berths are vacant in a train, then senior citizens, disabled and pregnant women have the first right on those seats.

Senior citizens, disabled, pregnant women get lower berths automatically
The Union Railway Minister said that the entire system of allotting lower berths to senior citizens, disabled, pregnant women and women above 45 years of age is automated. As soon as you enter your details like age, gender etc. while booking the ticket, the railway system gives you priority and allots lower berths. Ashwini Vaishnav said that 6-7 seats in each coach of sleeper class, 4-5 seats in third AC, 3-4 seats in second AC are always reserved for senior citizens, differently-abled, pregnant women and women above 45 years of age.
