Possibility of heat wave next week  (hea)

New Delhi: This time the heat  (hea) has started showing its color in the month of April itself. Unrestrained heat has started in all parts of the country. At least 26 weather centers have recorded maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius or more amid heat wave in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given this information.

Four weather centers in Delhi have assessed the heat wave situation. The mercury in Kandla, Gujarat reached 45.6 degrees Celsius, which was the highest temperature in the country on this day. The maximum temperature in Rajkot was recorded at 45.2 degrees Celsius, Amreli at 44.3 degrees Celsius and Surendranagar at 43.8 degrees Celsius. In the coastal city of Porbandar, the mercury abnormally went up to 43 degrees Celsius, which was 8.8 degrees more than normal.

Deesa and Ahmedabad also recorded maximum temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius in the state. In Rajasthan, Pilani recorded a maximum temperature of 44.9 degrees Celsius, Phalodi and Churu 43.8 degrees Celsius and 43.5 degrees Celsius respectively, while Bikaner and Jaipur recorded maximum temperatures of 43.4 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius respectively. At many of these places, the maximum temperature was six to eight degrees above normal. In Maharashtra, Akola and Jalgaon both recorded a maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees Celsius, while Malegaon recorded a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius.

Central India was also not untouched by this. Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius, which was 6.3 degrees above normal. The mercury reached 43.2 degrees Celsius in Hoshangabad. The Meteorological Department said that due to the effect of western disturbance, the heat is likely to reduce in North-West India from April 10, while in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, the heat is likely to reduce from April 11. IMD scientist and spokesperson Naresh Kumar has warned of hot winds again in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan on April 14-15.
