New York: The NIA has arrested Tahawwur Hussain, the conspirator of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, after extradition from America and has brought him to India. After the Pakistani-origin Canadian terrorist was brought to India, America and Israel have given such a reaction that Pakistan (Pakistan ) will have a stomachache after hearing it. America said on Thursday that the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the main accused in the Mumbai terror attacks, is an “important step towards getting justice” for the victims of this barbaric attack.
What was the role of Tahawwur Rana
A Justice Department spokesperson said that the US on Wednesday extradited Rana, a native of Pakistan and a Canadian citizen, to India for prosecution on 10 criminal charges related to his alleged role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. A US Justice Department spokesperson said in a statement, “Rana’s extradition is an important step towards getting justice for the six Americans and many other victims who were killed in the barbaric attacks.” A multi-agency team led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached Delhi on Thursday evening with 64-year-old Rana, ending days of speculation over his extradition. The horrific attacks carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists in Mumbai on November 26, 2008 killed 166 people, including American, British and Israeli citizens.
Israel said – I am happy with Rana’s extradition to India
Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar on Thursday welcomed the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the main accused in the 26/11 terrorist attacks, to India. He also thanked the Indian government for its “commitment to bring the terrorists to justice”. “We are pleased to hear of the extradition to India of a suspect in the horrific terrorist attacks in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, which killed many innocent civilians, including Israelis,” Azar said in a video message. “I want to thank the Indian government for its commitment to bringing the terrorists to justice,” he said.
