Pakistan divided on Iran after Munir and Trump’s meeting

After this, on Thursday, President Trump, in response to a question on Munir’s stance on Iran, said that no one understands Iran better than Asim Munir… Munir’s stance is not against Israel either. Meanwhile, the people of Pakistan and many leaders are demanding that Pakistan should help Iran in the Israel-Iran war… but during lunch with Trump, Asim Munir did not clarify Pakistan’s stand on Iran. Trump said that Asim Munir knows Iran better than others… he is not happy with the way the war is progressing… Trump said that like him, Asim Munir also wants a quick solution to this war. Munir has maintained silence on this. While the Pakistan government is condemning the Israeli attack.
What did Pakistan say on the issue of Iran
Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said in the weekly press conference, “Pakistan’s position on Iran is clear and transparent: we provide full moral support to Iran; We strongly condemn the aggression against Iran. No request has been received from Tehran to provide shelter to its refugees in Pakistan, which borders Iran. He said, “Iran has not asked us for any kind of military help till now.” But “Iran has the right to defend itself under the United Nations Charter.” He said that 21 Muslim countries have issued a joint statement condemning the Israeli aggression against Iran and have termed the Israeli action as against international law and the United Nations Charter.
Pakistan said- Israel should immediately stop attacks on Iran
The spokesperson of the Pak Foreign Ministry said that the situation in Iran is a matter of grave concern for Pakistan. We demand Israel to immediately stop attacks on Iran. He also said that Pakistan supports a negotiated solution to the Iran-Israel conflict. Khan said Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar had telephonic contact with the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and the UK and highlighted that Israel’s actions against Iran could have dangerous ramifications in the region and beyond. The spokesperson also stressed that targeting Iranian nuclear installations is a violation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards and other international laws.
Iran did not seek assistance from Pakistan
However, he also said that so far Iran has not received any request for any “military assistance” from Pakistan in the ongoing war against Israel. Pakistan, however, also stressed that the Islamic Republic has the right to defend itself.
