Know about Tahawwur Rana( Tahawwur Rana) 

Mumbai: Terrorist Tahawwur Rana ( Tahawwur Rana)  accused of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008, has been extradited from the US to India on Thursday. Tahawwur Rana was brought to Delhi’s Palam airport by a special plane after which the YIA formally arrested him. Tahawwur Rana was produced in Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Thursday night. The court gave 18 days’ custody of Rana to the YIA while the central agency had sought 20 days’ custody.

Tahawwur brought to court under tight security

Earlier, after the plane landed in India, Tahawwur Rana was brought from the airport to the Patiala House Court amid tight security. He was produced in the court of Special YIA Judge Chandrajit Singh. In-camera proceedings took place in the closed room of the court. Tahawwur Rana was provided with legal services by the legal service authority. Apart from his lawyer and the legal team of NIA, the judge and his staff were present in the court.

These lawyers presented their arguments in the court

Senior lawyer Dayan Krishnan and special public prosecutor Narendra Mann represented the NIA in the Delhi court. At the same time, Delhi Legal Services Authority lawyer Piyush Sachdeva represented Tahawwur Rana in the court. The judge was informed about the entire case and Rana’s medical was also given. After getting custody, Tahawwur Rana will now be questioned at the NIA headquarters.

Know about Tahawwur Rana

Tahawwur Hussain Rana is a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin. He has also been a citizen of Chicago, USA. Rana was close to David Coleman Headley, one of the main conspirators of the Mumbai attack on 26 November 2008. Tahawwur Rana had earlier worked as a doctor in the Pakistani army for about 10 years. After this, he left his job and got involved in terrorist activities against India. Tahawwur Rana not only helped Pakistani terrorists to attack Mumbai, but was also a part of the entire planning.
