Sydney: Cricket Australia gave a big relief to David Warner  (David Warner ) with one of its decisionsAustralian team’s dashing opening batsman David Warner, who said goodbye to international cricket this year, has now been given a big relief by Cricket Australia through one of its decisions. While David Warner had to face a ban after getting caught in the sand paper scandal in the Cape Town Test match on the tour of South Africa in 2018, Cricket Australia had imposed a lifetime ban on him from captaining any team in the country. Now the Australian Cricket Board has lifted this ban on him.

Warner can captain the Sydney Thunder team in the Big Bash League

After this decision of Cricket Australia, David Warner, who is a part of the Sydney Thunder team, can also take over the responsibility of captaincy in the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. In a statement issued by Cricket Australia regarding Warner, he said that CA’s Conduct Commission, which consisted of a three-member panel, unanimously decided that Warner meets the criteria required to lift the ban after the change in the Code of Conduct 2022. The panel has taken this decision keeping in mind David Warner’s admission of mistake and the change in his conduct behind its decision.

Warner had been demanding the removal of this ban for the last several years
When David Warner was caught in the sand paper scandal, Steve Smith was also involved in this whole matter with him. Both were banned for one year each by Cricket Australia. Apart from this, Steve Smith was banned from being made the captain for 2 years, while Warner had to face a lifetime ban on being made the captain of any team in Australia. When Warner returned to international cricket again after the one-year ban ended, he was constantly demanding from Cricket Australia to lift the ban imposed on captaincy. In such a situation, after a long period of 6 years, Cricket Australia has now given a big relief to Warner.
