Under this tradition, in many places the newly married couple first worships (worship) the family deity. But, in a village of Rajasthan, a unique tradition is followed in the first puja after marriage.

A unique tradition has been going on for centuries regarding the first worship of the newly married couple after marriage in Bada Bagh village, about 6 km from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. In this village, instead of the temple of the family deity, the first puja of the newly married couple is performed at the cremation ground. Now the question arises that why such a tradition is still being followed in this village. The cremation ground of Bada Bagh village is considered very special. The people of the village consider it as the family crematorium of the royal family. Chhatris have been made in the memory of 103 kings and queens in the cremation ground of this village. The architecture of this cremation ground is very attractive. People’s faith in this cremation ground is so strong that not only the first worship of the newly married couple after marriage, but people come here to do the first worship before every auspicious work.

Why does the newly married couple worship in the cremation ground?
The people of Bada Bagh village of Jaisalmer believe that if the newly married couple performs the first puja in this cremation ground, then they get the blessings of the heavenly kings and queens. Therefore, the newly wedded couple worships on the mausoleums of kings and queens built in the crematorium. Apart from this, worship is also done on the full moon day after marriage. It is believed that taking the blessings of the departed kings and queens at the beginning of a new life makes married life happy.

Claims of strange sounds coming from the crematorium at night
It is not that the people of the village can come to this crematorium anytime or they are not afraid. Most of the people of the village are afraid to go to this cremation ground. No one in the village wants to pass near the crematorium even at night. People say that around the cremation ground, there are often sounds of horsemen and their horses’ hoofs. Apart from this, the hum of hookah is also heard here at night.
