Mumbai. Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai recorded a decline in Kovid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday. Here the test positivity rate was 28 percent on Monday, which fell to 18.7 percent on Tuesday. On this, experts argued that this is a sign of rapid reduction in diseases. According to Dr Shashank Joshi, member of Maharashtra Covid Task Force, Mumbai has passed its peak and the wave of Covid-19 may soon settle down, as per city reports. He said that the numbers till the past were clearly showing a positivity rate of about 25 percent. We are expecting those numbers to drop further.
Dr Shashank Joshi said that in the last three to four days, we have seen a trend which suggests that the number of cases may go down due to three reasons. First, a lot of people are now at home and they are in self-isolation and are not getting tested. Second, many people are doing self test and they are not reporting and third, we are not aware of the exact number. The real scale of this tsunami-like third wave will be the people who are being admitted to hospitals because of Kovid-19, not those who get admitted with Kovid-19.
