Mohali: Indian cricket team has started with a win in the 3-match ODI series against Australia. The Indian team, captained by KL Rahul, defeated the visiting Kangaroo team by 5 wickets in the first ODI of the series played at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. This is India’s first win in ODI against Kangaroos in Mohali after 27 years. Earlier, India had defeated the Kangaroos in an ODI in Mohali in 1996. These were the 5 heroes  (5 heroes ) of Team India’s victory.

Experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami destroyed the Australian batting order with his sharp bowling. Shami bowled 1 over maiden in his 10 over spell and took 5 wickets, spending 51 runs. There is little possibility of Shami getting a place in the starting eleven in the Indian team’s World Cup plans, but this player strengthened his claim by taking 5 wickets for the second time in his ODI career.

Mohammed Shami sent batsmen like opener Mitchell Marsh and veteran battery Steve Smith to the pavilion. Shami looked brilliant with his opening ball. After bowling Marsh (04 runs) in the first over, he bowled out David Warner and Steve Smith several times in this spell. This bowler put the Australian batsmen under pressure by dismissing Smith (41 runs), who had spent a good amount of time at the crease in his second spell.

The pair of Shubhman Gill and Rituraj Gaikwad, who have been batting brilliantly in all three formats of cricket for the last one and a half years, gave a blazing start to India. Gill, who was in great rhythm, completed his half-century in 37 balls by hitting fours and sixes on consecutive balls of Matthew Shot in the 14th over and then completed the team’s hundred runs with one run in the 16th over.
Right-handed batsman Shubhman Gill played an innings of 74 runs in 63 balls. During this period he hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad made a partnership of 142 runs for the first wicket.
Rituraj Gaikwad, who became the captain of Team India for the Asian Games, indicated that his preparations were strong by scoring a explosive half-century. Along with Gill, he gave a fast start to Team India. Gaikwad also got a lease of life in the eighth over off the bowling of Shaun Abbott when wicketkeeper Inglis took a difficult catch. This batsman hit fours against Abbott on the last two balls of the 10th over, due to which India’s score in the powerplay became 66 runs without any loss. Gaikwad completed his first half-century of his ODI career by taking two runs off Abbott in the 18th over.

Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant innings reduced the troubles of the selectors and the team management. Suryakumar Yadav, who had failed miserably in the previous limited overs series against Australia, entered this match with strong spirit. Suryakumar, who was out for zero in three consecutive matches against Australia in March, showed his confidence by hitting a four on the ramp shot against Cummins.
The Indian team completed 200 runs in the 36th over. Suryakumar hit two fours against Stoinis and a four on the state drive against Abbott. Suryakumar completed his half-century in 47 balls by hitting a six against Cameron Green and then a run against Abbott. He played an inning of 50 runs in 49 balls which included 5 fours and a six.

Captain KL Rahul completed his half-century by hitting a four against Abbott in the 49th over and then gave the team victory by hitting a six. Rahul returned unbeaten after scoring 58 runs on 63 balls. He hit 4 fours and one six.

KL Rahul has been made the captain for the first two ODIs. Rahul had recently recovered from injury and made a comeback in the Asia Cup. He scored a brilliant century in the Super Four against Pakistan. Rohit continued his excellent form in the Asia Cup in the first ODI against Australia. Rahul is captaining the country for the first time
