New Delhi – Ministry of Railways today approved the final location survey of Meerut-Hastinapur-Bijnor new rail line. It is estimated that Rs 1,58,75,000 will be spent for the survey of this 63.5 km long new railway line.
Hon’ble Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, during his two day visit to Bijnor and Dhampur districts of Uttar Pradesh on 23-24 August, 2022 had promised the people of the area for a quick decision on the final location survey of Meerut-Hastinapur-Bijnor rail line. . The Ministry of Railways has approved the FSL of the new railway line in a record time of two days. Hastinapur and Bijnor cities will be connected to Delhi, Lucknow and other major cities of the country with the commissioning of this line.
Bijnor is the major sugar producing region of India. The construction of the new line will increase marketing and travel opportunities for people. Hastinapur is an ancient city mentioned in the epic Mahabharata. Better travel facilities will help in developing the region as a tourist and pilgrimage destination.
