new Delhi. Corona virus is once again causing havoc in many countries of the world. The cases of corona virus are increasing in countries like China and Japan. Government of India is on alert mode to stop Corona. On the other hand, in many reports regarding the new sub-variant of Corona, different claims are being made that Omicron’s sub-variant BA.5 is quite deadly. It is being claimed that BA.5 can be fatal for people’s brain.
PIB did a fact check regarding the study
However, this claim is false. Fact Check by PIB states that Omicron’s sub-variant BA.5 is fatal to the brain. PIB has tweeted from the Fact Check Twitter handle that this claim is not true and completely misleading. According to this fact check, different news reports are quoting the study but this has not been proved in the research. In the study, the effect of Omicron’s sub-variant BA.5 on the human brain has not been revealed.
It was being told in media reports that during the study, the BA.5 sub-variant caused more damage to rat brain and human brain tissue. This increased the risk of brain swelling, weight loss and death. Research was told that the rats died of brain infection of BA.5. However, now PIB has fact-checked the claims of the media reports.
