Taliban deputy spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi called it a rumour.

Kabul. A Taliban commander in Afghanistan brought his newly wed bride home in an army helicopter. It is also being said about this commander that he gave 12,00,000 Afghani rupees to his father-in-law as a dowry. According to the report of Khama Press, this commander is being told on social media to be associated with the Haqqani branch. In a video that has gone viral, the wife of a Taliban commander can be seen landing near a house in an army helicopter.

The commander’s wife is a resident of Barki Barak district of Logar and the commander’s house is in Khost province. However, Taliban’s deputy spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi has called it a rumour. It has said that the Taliban government denies the allegation.

This video, which went viral, is being criticized across the country. People say that this action of the Taliban commander is contrary to the speech given by the Supreme Leader in Loya Jirga.

The head of the Afghan Taliban, Haibatullah Akhundzada, has ordered Afghanistan’s interim government officials not to marry more than once. According to the report of Tolo News, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban, Haibatullah Akhundzada, has issued instructions to the officials not to do two, three or four marriages. It is not necessary and it is also costly.

Prohibition on having multiple wives
A similar decree was issued by the Taliban in January before coming to power last year. In this, the Taliban banned leaders and commanders from having multiple wives. The Daroun Taliban had said that such a practice gives an opportunity to criticize our enemies.

According to another report, people were complaining about dowry. Some people had asked their superiors for money to help them in giving dowry. After receiving many complaints, such an order has now been issued by the Taliban.
