Around 150 policemen of Rajasthan Police have been looking for him in the state and two other neighboring states for the past few days after the video of Congress MLA Girraj Singh Malinga from Badi assembly constituency in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district was released by notorious dacoit Jagan Gurjar. has happened.
Reversing the threat given by the dacoit to the MLA on January 24, MLA Malinga has also challenged the dacoit. In view of the situation, the Dholpur district police formed several teams and launched a search operation in Chambal and other areas of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh to trace the infamous dacoit. A police officer said that a team of police is searching for him through two drones in Madhya Pradesh.
A senior police officer from Dholpur said, “More than 150 policemen are involved in the search operation of the dacoit. Apart from Rajasthan, the teams are camping in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and are searching for Gurjars. So far 123 cases have been registered against the dacoit.”
Rajasthan Police has increased the reward amount to Rs 50,000 on dacoit Jagan Gurjar, who came out of jail on bail last year and went viral on social media by releasing a threatening video on January 24. In the video, former dacoit Gurjar threatened to kill Congress MLA Girraj Malinga by using abusive words.
Congress MLA also released another video challenging the dacoit to come forward. The police officer said that one team is keeping an eye on the local people who are suspected to be working as their informers, while other teams are engaged in the search operation of the dacoits in the ravines of Chambal.
Ashutosh Charan, SHO of Basai Dang police station area of Dholpur district said, “We have to face many challenges in conducting search operations in the Behads of Chambal due to difficult geographical conditions. Our teams are in the Behads of Chambal in Uttar Pradesh as well as in Madhya Pradesh. Looking for the dacoit.”
He said that a person has been arrested in Dholpur who was giving further information about the movement of police in the area. Apart from the search operation, various encroachments done by him in 220 forest land area of Dholpur have been freed to put pressure on the dacoit Gujjar. His two brothers are in jail while the third brother and other family members are being interrogated but no information has been received about his whereabouts.
Police Station Officer Charan said that infamous dacoit Jagan Gurjar had entered the world of crime in 1994 and was first arrested in 2001 and came into limelight in 2008 when he blew up the residence of the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in Dholpur. Although threatened, he later surrendered. He has three wives. One of them was involved in a crime with her and she was injured in a police encounter in Madhya Pradesh a few years back.
