Shimla. Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, the situation has worsened across the state. Due to heavy rains in other districts including Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur, there has been a lot of loss of life. Cloud burst in Nachan in Mandi district and Patdighat in Sarkaghat. Similarly, the incident of cloudburst has also come to the fore in Kandaiwala of Nahar of Sirmaur.
All schools,(school) colleges and educational institutions have been closed for 14 August in the state. At present, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Monday in the state. The situation in the state has become like that of July 9. The gates of Bhakra Dam have been opened in Bilaspur. Here the water level was seven feet less than the danger level.
According to the information, it is getting heavy in Himachal Pradesh for four consecutive days. The entire area in Balh of Sundernagar in Mandi district has been submerged in water. Similarly, many local roads are closed in Shimla. Here, 7-8 vehicles have been damaged due to falling of trees in Forest Colony in Khalini. In Hamirpur district, the mother died due to house collapse in Lanjayani village of Bhoranj, while the daughter is injured. Between Namhol and Brahmpukhar in Bilaspur, the mountain came on the road near Dagsech temple, due to which the Shimla-Dharamshala highway was closed. Two trucks, cars and a house have been damaged here. In Himachal, 452 roads are closed due to the rains of the last 24 hours. Due to frequent landslides at Chakki Mor on Kalka Shimla Highway, the road has been closed. The conductor was injured when a tree fell on a private bus in Shimla.
On the decision to close all educational institutions (schools, colleges) of Himachal Pradesh on August 14, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has taken this decision in view of the safety of the students due to heavy rains. On the orders of the Chief Minister, the Education Secretary has issued a notification to keep all government, private schools and colleges closed on August 14.
The Chief Minister took feedback from all DCs about the damage caused by heavy rains in the districts. He also got information about the closure of roads. He also learned about the damage caused by landslides and damage to houses. The Chief Minister has instructed the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary as well as all DCs to keep a close watch on the situation created due to heavy rains. The administrative staff should be alert and maintain smooth arrangements for roads, electricity and water.
People had to leave their homes in Patdighat
The mountain has cracked in Patdighat of Sarkaghat in Mandi district. Here in Jwali ward of Patdighat four houses have been damaged and according to Sarkaghat SDM, 80 people have been accommodated in government school Patdighat. Similarly, 52 people have been shifted in Kalkhar School.
