Russia asks Kherson to evacuate ordinary people

Moscow. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has asked the common people of Kherson to evacuate the city, seeing the increasing incidents of targeting of civilians in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Along with this, 24-hour curfew has been imposed in Kherson city. Kherson is part of the territory of Ukraine that Russia occupied in September. Putin has warned that citizens living in Kherson province should leave the war-torn area. It is believed to come amid suggestions that the Russian army is preparing to leave the west bank of the Dnipro River.

The US on Friday announced a security aid package of about $400 million for Ukraine. In this, the US will give money for the renewal of T-72 tanks and surface-to-air Hawk missiles. While Kyiv has demanded German Leopard or US Abrams tanks. The T-72 tanks are coming from the defense industry of the Czech Republic. The US is paying money to refurbish 45 of them. On the other hand, Ukraine’s state postal service has issued a commemorative wartime postage stamp for the attack on Crimea’s bridge last month. After this attack, Russia attacked several civilian targets in Kyiv and Putin blamed the attack on the Crimean bridge for this.
Wagner, Russia’s first secretly operating private military group, on Friday opened its first official headquarters in the city of St. Petersburg. Wagner’s boss Yevgeny Prigozhin recently confirmed that he had founded the group whose fighters are stationed in Ukraine as well as countries in Latin America and Africa. He announced the opening of Wagner’s office last week on the social media page of his company Concorde.
