Khartoum. Sudan’s Doctors’ Association said at least 47 people had been killed and 380 injured in violent((Rebel group )) clashes in the country. According to media reports, three UN employees are also among those who died. Rapid Support Forces, a Sudanese armed group that has jumped into battle with the army in a bid to seize power in the country, claimed it has captured the country’s presidential palace in Khartoum as well as three airports. The global community has expressed concern over the situation in Sudan, which is mired in civil war, and urged all parties to stop the violence.
Many people have been riddled with bullets in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Fierce fighting was going on between the army and its rival group Rapid Support Forces at the presidential palace, state TV and the army headquarters. Among those killed are three UN personnel, who were shot after firing between the two sides at a military base. The violent clashes took place after tensions between the two sides escalated over a proposed change of civilian rule. Both the army and its rival Rapid Support Forces claimed to have regained control of the airport and other key sites in Khartoum. Fighting continued throughout the night to capture these places.

Violence has also been reported elsewhere in the country, including in cities in Sudan’s Darfur region. The army said that jets are attacking RSF positions. Sudan’s air force asked people to stay in their homes on Saturday night. The residents of Khartoum are forced to live in constant terror and fear. The sound of gunshots could be heard continuously in the houses next to them. According to the World Food Programme, RSF has looted many of their vehicles.
