The two runways of the airport here will remain closed after the monsoon due to routine maintenance work. The airport has said that this important information is already being given to the passengers. The second largest number of flights in the country are operated from Mumbai Airport. On September 17, a record 1,30,374 passengers arrived at Mumbai Airport in a single day, which is the highest after the Corona epidemic.
In a statement issued by the airport operator, it has been said that on November 17, both the runways (RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32) will be temporarily closed from 11 am to 5 pm. A notice in this regard was issued six months ago. The purpose of keeping these runways closed is to carry out proper maintenance and repair work to maintain the airport infrastructure to a high standard. According to the statement, runway maintenance is done every year after monsoon and this is a necessary step for safety.

All flights have already been rescheduled
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has said that all flights have already been rescheduled for the convenience of passengers during the runway closure. Due to this, passengers will not face any inconvenience even if flights are affected during maintenance. All flights between 11 am and 5 pm on October 18 have been rescheduled to an earlier or later time. Due to this, passengers will not face any problem in reaching their destination. When Mumbai Airport works at its full capacity, it can handle the movement of 9 crore passengers annually.

Runway maintenance work is done every year
According to the statement, 800 airplanes take off and land at the airport every day and runway maintenance work is done every year to keep the movement uninterrupted and for the safety of the passengers. The airport says that after talking to airline customers, their journeys have been rescheduled so that the repair work can be completed smoothly.
