Bangalore. An FIR has been registered against unidentified suspects at the Central ‘CEN’ crime police station here after the Press Information Officer of the Karnataka High Court lodged a complaint about threats to his life, including that of several judges. The police (Police) gave this information on Monday.
Of. Muralidhar had filed a complaint on 14 July. He received a message on WhatsApp messenger from an international number on July 12 at around 7 pm. His mobile number has been officially provided to him by the High Court.
The police said the message, in Hindi, Urdu and English, threatened to kill Muralidhar and six judges of the high court, allegedly through a ‘Dubai gang’. These judges include Justice Mohd Nawaz, Justice HT Narendra Prasad, Justice Ashok G Nijagannavar (retd), Justice HP Sandesh, Justice K Natarajan and Justice B Veerappa (retd).
The message also contained five suspicious mobile phone numbers and threats. The FIR, registered on July 14, states that the threat message asked to deposit Rs 50 lakh in a bank account in Pakistan. Police said that after registering an FIR under sections 506, 507 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 75 and 66 (f) of the Information Technology Act, it has handed it over to the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.
