Nuh   (Nuh)told violence as part of a bigger conspiracy

New Delhi. The communal violence that broke out during the Shobha Yatra of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Haryana’s Nuh  (Nuh) on Monday spread to Gurugram on Tuesday. Intermittent violence is continuing in Gurugram since Monday evening. Late Tuesday night, miscreants ransacked some shops located in Sector-70 of Gurugram here and then set them on fire.

Meanwhile, sources told that Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding this recent violence and got to know the latest situation.

5 people died in violence
Last night also the Imam of a mosque was killed in Gurugram. Apart from this, a restaurant was set on fire and some shops were ransacked. A day before this, two more people died after the attack in Nuh, with which the death toll increased to five.

A police official said that more than 50 people, including 10 policemen, were injured in Nuh’s mode. Authorities imposed curfew in Nuh district on Tuesday morning. At the same time, the security forces also conducted flag marches in the surrounding districts and several peace committee meetings were organized.

Hours after a mob targeted a Vishwa Hindu Parishad procession at Nuh’s Khedla More, firing, pelting stones and setting cars on fire, rioters torched vehicles and shops in Gurgaon’s Sohna town. By 9 pm on Monday night, the police dispersed the Sohna crowd, due to which there was no casualty there.

Mosque attacked after midnight
After this, after midnight, another group set fire to the under-construction Anjuman Masjid. Naib Imam Saad, 26, and another person were injured in the firing by the mob. An official said that Imam, a resident of Bihar, died in the hospital.

Five people have been detained in connection with the attack on the mosque. On Tuesday afternoon, a mob chanting Jai Shri Ram set fire to a roadside eatery in Badshahpur, Gurugram. Police said that some shops in the nearby market were also ransacked. The fire department brought the fire under control.

Officials said that when the police reached the spot, the rioters – who are said to be around 70 in number – fled on their motorcycles and other vehicles.

In protest against the Nuh violence, traders closed shops on the 20 km long Badshahpur-Sohna road. Due to this violence, people in many housing complexes of Gurugram adjacent to the national capital were troubled.

There were also unconfirmed reports that Muslim residents were leaving their homes in some parts of the district, but the administration denied it and appealed to people not to spread rumours. Gurugram authorities also announced that schools and educational institutions, which were closed on Tuesday, will reopen on Wednesday, except in Sohna. According to the administration, five vehicles and three shops were damaged in Sohna violence on Monday.

CM Khattar told Nuh violence part of big conspiracy
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said during a review meeting that the Nuh violence appears to be part of a “larger conspiracy”. He warned of strict action against the culprits. He said, ‘No rioter will be spared.’

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij also claimed that the violence was ‘planned’. He said, ‘Somebody has hatched a conspiracy but I have not reached any conclusion. We will investigate it and every responsible person will be brought to justice.

In Delhi, VHP Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain claimed that there was a “premeditated” attack against Hindus during a religious procession in Nuh and that some Congress workers in Haryana had instigated the attackers. He also accused the state government of intelligence failure and demanded a probe by the NIA.

Chief Minister Khattar said that 16 companies of paramilitary forces and 30 companies of Haryana Police are stationed in Nuh. 44 FIRs have been registered and 70 people have been detained. At least 120 vehicles were damaged during the violence in the district.

An official said that after the Nuh violence and the attack on the mosque in Gurugram, security has been tightened at temples and mosques. Mobile internet services were suspended in Nuh and Faridabad on Monday till Wednesday. Prohibitory orders were implemented in the surrounding districts. As a precautionary measure, educational institutions in Gurugram, Faridabad and Palwal districts have been ordered to remain closed on Tuesday.
