Gush. The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes has issued an arrest warrant against Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district collector Pankaj Jain. In this regard, the commission has also ordered DGP Sudhir Saxena. The commission had directed Jain to appear in a case. He was to appear before the panel in the matter of environmental damage. In this manner, action was taken against him for not appearing before the panel. The commission has given orders to the DGP to execute the arrest warrant.
In fact, the residents of Junapani in Dhar district had complained to the NCST alleging that a stone crusher of a Haryana company near the village was harming their health, crops and livestock. The air here is also getting polluted. A complaint was also made to the district administration in this matter. But there was no hearing on the complaint.
The NCST, taking cognizance of the complaint of the villagers, directed the Dhar district administration to assess the damage caused to the people and the environment and give proper compensation to the affected. Despite being summoned by the commission, Collector Pankaj Jain did not appear before NCST on October 14. Orders have been given to DGP Sudhir Saxena to execute the arrest warrant by October 26. The arrest warrant against the collector was issued on Thursday and the NCST has asked it to be executed.
