Kuwait: Women of Kuwait have got permission to join the army, but the Ministry of Defense has decided not to give arms to women soldiers. Along with this, it has been said that women soldiers will have to take permission from male soldiers before taking any step on the border. Along with this, women in the armed forces will have to cover their heads. Women have expressed their displeasure over this decision of the government.

Several thousand women had applied for recruitment in the army. To join the army, the eligibility has been kept for university diploma or graduation. Women between 18 to 26 years can apply.
Kuwaiti women got the right to vote in 2005. Women have been active in both the cabinet and parliament, though their representation in both has been low and poor. Experts say that there are still many problems facing women in Kuwait, which need to be improved.
