Earlier, the Nag missile was showcased by DRDO during the development phase, but this will be the first time when the user of this missile i.e. Army will be seen with it. This Nag missile is completely indigenous and will slay the Supreme Commander on the line of duty for the first time. The special thing about this missile is that it has been installed on BMP 2 carrier and it has been named ‘NAMICA’ i.e. Nag missile carrier.

‘Nag will accurately hit any moving target’

Last year itself, the Defense Purchase Committee has approved the purchase of a total of 13 Namaka carriers and 443 Nag missiles. It is currently under construction and will soon be a part of the Mechanized Infantry.

So far the Indian Army is in possession of the second generation French ATGM Milan 2T, which has a range of 3 km and the Russian ATGM Kankur, which has a range of 4 km. Both these ATGMs are being manufactured by BDL in the country under license production. DRDO has prepared indigenous Nag and its production is being done by Defense PSU Bharat Dynamic Limited. It took twenty years for the development of this Nag missile and now the product that has come out can hit the target with 90 percent accuracy.

K-9 Vajra will also show strength
This time, the indigenous military equipment being showcased on the path of duty on Republic Day includes the K-9 Vajra Artillery Gun. This tank-like system was bought keeping Pakistan in mind, but during the tension with China in East Ladakh, it was deployed there as well. This Korean gun is now being manufactured in the country itself. Initially 100 guns were purchased for the army, which it also got. At the same time, keeping China in mind, additional 100 guns are being taken on LAC.

The firepower of this K-9 gun is tremendous and it immediately changes its place after firing, due to which it is also saved from the counter attack of the enemy. At the same time, the land version of the world’s most dangerous supersonic cruise missile will also be on duty this time. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was developed by a joint venture between India and Russia and has now been inducted in all three wings of the Indian Army. This missile can target the enemy’s indepth target and even the enemy’s radar cannot catch this supersonic cruise missile.

Apart from this, the Air Defense Akash missile system of the army will also be present on the duty path. This ground-to-air missile can target any cruise missile, aircraft and military drone coming from 30 kilometers away. Right now DRDO is working on increasing and upgrading the firepower of this air defense system.
