Hydrogen-powered trains will run in India by 2023

New Delhi: Indian Railways has changed its image a lot in the recent years. Trains like Vande Bharat, Tejas Express are examples of this. Meanwhile, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says that hydrogen-powered trains will also start running in India by 2023. A lot of work has been done on this. The Railway Minister was addressing an event organized at SOA University in Bhubaneswar. He also said that Indian Railways is continuously working towards increasing its speed.

The Railway Minister said, “Vande Bharat Express is one of the semi high speed and fastest running trains in India. It is now being manufactured in India itself. Vande Bharat train runs smoothly without any major breakdown since last two years. running smoothly.” Let us tell you that recently Vande Bharat has got the green signal from the Commissioner of Railway Safety.

Talking about train and track management, the minister said, “Our focus is not just on making trains. We are also working hard on track management system to run semi-high or high-speed trains. Vande Bharat “During the trial run of the U.K., we saw how a fully filled glass of water doesn’t budge even at a speed of 180 kmph. However, it shook the world.” The Railway Minister also informed that after the successful completion of Vande Bharat’s trial run, production of 72 trains will start soon.

Germany launched in August
Germany has launched the world’s first fleet of hydrogen-powered passenger trains in Lower Saxony. According to reports, 14 trains with hydrogen fuel cell drive have been manufactured by French company Alstom. In Germany, it will now be run instead of diesel-run trains. These trains will save 16 lakh liters of diesel annually. According to Alstom, each train will have a capacity to cover a distance of 999 kilometres.
