Gehlot government in trouble with gardener (gardener)society

Bharatpur. Mobile internet service remained suspended in some parts of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan on Sunday. Ashok Gehlot’s gardener (gardener)  community to which he belongs has given him sleepless nights. The people of Mali community blocked the Jaipur-Agra National Highway for the third consecutive day demanding 12 per cent separate reservation in government jobs and educational institutions. Police said a large number of protesters started gathering at the protest site on Sunday and demanded the release of their leader Murari Lal Saini, who was detained along with six others before the agitation.

CP Saini, president of the Phule Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, said that if the state government fails to fulfill their demands, they will block the Jaipur-Delhi highway as well. “We can also do ‘chakka jam’ across the state,” he said. The Mali community comes under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also belongs to this community. Protesters had blocked the Jaipur-Agra National Highway in Bharatpur on Friday and pelted stones at policemen. The police had released tear gas shells to control the crowd.

Bharatpur Divisional Commissioner Sanwarmal Verma said, ‘The situation is under control. We are closely monitoring the situation. Discussions are also being held with the community representatives. He said that the suspension on mobile internet service in Vair, Nadbai and Bhusawar has been extended till midnight, which is likely to be extended further. The community is demanding 12 per cent reservation, formation of a separate Luv Kush Welfare Board and hostel facilities for the children of the community.
There was a protest in June 2022 as well
The Congress-led state government had recently constituted the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Welfare Board and declared April 19, the social reformer’s birthday, a state holiday. The community had staged a similar protest in June 2022, which ended after the assurance.
