The army has said that the curfew will end in Bangladesh on Tuesday morning. Schools and businesses will reopen.

Sheikh Hasina’s son’s statement also came out

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said on Monday that his mother would no longer return to politics. Joy, a former official advisor to Hasina, said that his mother left the country for her safety at the request of the family. Hasina (76 years old) resigned amid massive protests against her government and left for London.

There will be no political comeback for his mother. He said that Hasina was considering resigning since Sunday and left the country for her safety after the insistence of the family.

According to the news, Joy said that her mother, who ruled Bangladesh for 15 years, was very disappointed that despite her hard work, people stood up against her. Expressing Hasina’s disappointment, she said, ‘She has changed Bangladesh. When she took power, it was considered a failed nation. It was a poor country. But today it was considered one of the emerging countries in Asia. She is very disappointed.’

Clashes broke out between protesters demanding Hasina’s resignation and ruling Awami League supporters in different parts of Bangladesh on Sunday. This clash happened a few days after more than 200 people were killed in violent clashes between police and mostly student protesters. At least 300 people have been killed in the country within a fortnight. Rejecting allegations that the government was being too heavy-handed in dealing with the protesters, Joy said, “Policemen have been beaten to death, 13 died yesterday alone. When the mob is beating people to death, what do you expect from the police?”
