If you are fasting during Navratri, then you can make water chestnut sheera or halwa to keep yourself energetic and fit throughout the day. You can also offer it to Goddess Durga during puja. First of all, place a clean pan on the gas stove and add ghee in it. When the ghee gets heated well, add water chestnut flour to it and fry it. Keep the flame on medium flame only otherwise the flour may burn. When the flour becomes golden brown, add water as per requirement.

If you want to make it more nutritious and tasty, you can add milk instead of water. Keep stirring continuously otherwise it may stick to the pan. When the milk or water dries completely, add sugar to it and keep stirring. After cooking for three-four minutes, remove the pan from the gas stove. Now add all the dry fruits like pistachios, raisins, almonds, cashew nuts finely. Then add cardamom powder and mix well. Keep it in a clean bowl. You can consume it whenever you feel hungry.
