Doctors put forward 5 demands(Doctors) 

Kolkata: The rape and murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has shaken the whole country. The rape and murder is being protested all over the country. Doctors (Doctors)  across the country are on strike. The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident. In this case, more than 70 Padma award winning doctors have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In their letter, they have demanded strict action against the criminals of the Kolkata incident. They have put forward their five demands, which also include the demand to take steps related to the safety of health workers. Those who wrote the letter to Prime Minister Modi include Dr. Harsh Mahajan, former AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria, former ICMR director general Dr. Balram Bhargava who took on a big responsibility during the Corona period, Director of Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences Dr. SK Sarin and more than 70 other names.

Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance

The investigation of the rape and murder case of the woman has been handed over to the CBI. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of this case. A bench of three judges of the Supreme Court will hear the case. A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra will hear the case on August 20. At the same time, Kolkata Police has imposed prohibitory orders near RG Kar Medical College and Hospital from Sunday 18 August to 24 August, under which gathering and gathering of more than 5 people will be banned.

Prohibitory orders imposed around hospital

RG Kar Hospital has become the center of protests after the rape and murder of a female doctor. An order said that Kolkata Police has imposed Section 163 (2) of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNS) around the hospital. It said that prohibitory orders have been imposed from the area around the hospital to Shyambazar Five-Point Crossing. According to the order, action can be taken against the person violating the prohibitory order under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), 2023.
